We are rushing out our summer newsletter to update members and supporters on the recent announcement from the Scottish Government that they are axing plans for a National Park in Galloway.  Our reaction was quoted in many papers the day after the announcement and you can read it in full, along with those of MSPs and SCNP in this e-newsletter.

This is an extra Spring e-news for APRS supporters. We have news on our in-person event, and what we can learn from our history of campaigning on energy infrastructure.  But most of all it's to tell everyone that this week only, your donations to APRS will be doubled thanks to the Green Funders Network

The most important is the in-person event 'The Nature of Planning' that we are hosting with Planning Democracy on 22 March. We hope to see you there! We also have news on the process for designating a new National Park for Scotland, an invitation to a talk and panel discussion on 'environment campaigning in a polarised world' at the Scottish Campaign for National Parks AGM and a history blog about our founder Frank Mears.

We have so much to tell you about in this newsletter. We are part-way through our webinar series on Biodiversity and Planning, and Nikki Sinclair explains the ramifications of the Mossend appeal and the subsequent legal challenge. The big news is that the consultation on the National Park in Galloway is open and we also have a potted history of APRS up to the 1950s to share with you.
