National Parks legislation in Scotland will change from October 2026 when commencement of Part 2 of the Natural Environment (Scotland) Act will happen. However, a number of potentially significant changes to public bodies and local government were announced in the Programme for Government 2026 and this raises a number of concerns over how implementation of the new measures and duties will be taken forward.
